- "Students, tell the Undersecretary how you would like to contribute to the Great Work."
"Oh, oh!"
"Yes, Roona?"
"I want to be a senior statistical accountant!" - ―The droid teacher and Roona
Roona was a Vazooan female native of the planet At Attin who attended At Attin Middle School Gamma. The day before her Career Assessment Test around 9 ABY, Undersecretary Fara from the Office of the Supervisor visited one of Roona's lessons and, at the droid teacher's prompting, Roona informed the undersecretary that she wished to become a senior statistical accountant. Roona's classmate Neel had a crush on her despite the two never having spoken.
Biography
- "I don't want to get held back, Wim. I wouldn't be in the same class as Roona anymore."
"As Roona?"
"I like her."
"But you've never even talked to her."
"I'm working up to it." - ―Neel and Wim
Roona attended At Attin Middle School Gamma.
Roona was a Vazooan female[1] student of At Attin Middle School Gamma on[2] her homeworld, At Attin,[1] a planet separated from the rest of the galaxy by the Barrier.[2] Around 9 ABY,[3] the day before she and her classmates were due to take the Career Assessment Test—which would decide their roles within At Attin's Great Work—Roona arrived at school alongside the other students and on her way into the building passed the students Fern and KB being lectured by[2] a safety droid[4] for flying a hoverbike into school.[2]
Roona then attended a lesson led by a droid teacher who, part-way through the lesson, introduced the class to Undersecretary Fara, a special visitor from the Office of the Supervisor. Roona and the other students greeted Fara, who then spoke to them about the importance of the Career Assessment Test. When the teacher asked the students to state how they would like to contribute to the Great Work, Roona keenly raised her hand and was selected to answer first, stating that she wished to become a senior statistical accountant. After Roona answered, her classmate Neel[2] gazed at her longingly[4] from the row behind. He had a crush on her, but had never spoken to her before and was working up to saying something.[2]
Undersecretary Fara visited Roona's class.
Neel confided in his friend Wim about his crush when the pair later discussed the upcoming assessment, fearing that if he was held back then he would no longer be in Roona's class. When Fern and KB later tricked Neel and Wim into thinking they were being questioned by a safety droid, KB ordered the pair to reveal who they had a crush on at school and Neel cried out Roona's name.[2]
Personality and traits
Roona had green and white fur, black eyes, and pink skin.[2] She was a good student[5] and dreamed of becoming a senior statistical accountant on At Attin[1] to help with the Great Work.[5]
Equipment
While at school, Roona wore a uniform including a tan jacket, gray pants, black shoes, and a turquoise shirt.[2]
Behind the scenes
Phoenix Notary portrayed Roona.
Roona appeared in "This Could Be a Real Adventure,"[2] the first episode of the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which aired on December 2, 2024.[6] The episode's credits lists performance artist Phoenix Notary and Iliana Castillo as portraying the character[2] and Shelby Young has stated she voiced Roona.[7]
The character's costume was created by Legacy Effects and included multiple heads and a harness with sleeves for the arms.[8] Prior to the release of the episode, the character was first pictured in the show's first trailer, which was released on August 10, 2024.[9]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
