- "Admiral Jaeff is currently in command of the Imperial forces protecting the Corellian shipyards, but it is assumed he will be reporting to the more cunning Admiral Roek when the Aggressor arrives."
- ―Dirk Harkness's report
Roek was an officer in the Starfleet of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Endor, Roek served as an admiral and commanded the Super Star Destroyer Aggressor.
Biography
Around the time of the Battle of Endor, in 4 ABY, Admiral Roek commanded the Super Star Destroyer Aggressor and its escort of five Star Destroyers in the Inner Rim.[1]
Six months after the Battle of Endor, Admiral Roek and his fleet were recalled to the Core Worlds to defend the Corellian system from the New Republic, formerly the Rebel Alliance.[1] Roek replaced Admiral Jaeffis who was previously responsible for the defense of the Corellian shipyards[2] with his fleet of 25 Imperial-class Star Destroyers. As the New Republic prepared its campaign to conquer the Core Worlds, Dirk Harkness of the Black Curs warned New Republic Intelligence about the upcoming arrival of Roek and the Aggressor in the Corellian system.[1] Admiral Roek and the Aggressor later defended the Imperial withdrawal from the Corellian system as the New Republic began conquering the Core Worlds.[3]
The Aggressor eventually passed into the hands of Grand Admiral Josef Grunger.[3] In 5 ABY,[4] the Corellian system became the focus of the military power struggle within the Empire. While Grand Admiral Grunger was building up his forces in preparation for an attempt to seize the Imperial capital of Coruscant, another Grand Admiral, Danetta Pitta, allied himself with the Corellian Diktat Daclif Gallamby and took control of the Corellian sector, with a massive Torpedo Sphere as his command ship. The subsequent Battle of Tralus decimated both fleets, including the Aggressor.[5]
