Rock Canyon[2] was a canyon located on the planet Tatooine.[1] In 1 BBY,[3] the astromech droid R2-D2 was captured by a group of Jawas lead by Dathcha in Rock Canyon.[1]

Behind the scenes

Rock Canyon first appeared in the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, albeit unnamed.[1] It was first named in the 2016 comic Star Wars: The Original Trilogy – A Graphic Novel.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, it was named Jawa Canyon.[4]
