Ring-dogs were a type of dog that had banded tails.[1] In 4 ABY,[2] New Republic pilot Norra Wexley and her son, Temmin Wexley, argued about fleeing from the planet Akiva, with Norra claiming it was her decision to make as Temmin's parent. A thousand potential angry rebuttals to her statement ran through Temmin's head like ring-dogs chasing their own tails, but he decided it was not the right time for such a response and instead claimed to have a different plan for their survival.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "Do you know what the Rokana Raiders were like without me? Weak, scattered, begging for scraps, led around like ring-dogs by degenerate old pirates!"
- ―Stinger Tash's dialogue in one of the possible endings to A Pirate's Fortune
Ring-dogs were first mentioned in the 2015 novel Aftermath, which was written by Chuck Wendig as the first installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[1] During a standoff in the Khepi Tomb in the Sayma Nebula between the pirate Stinger Tash and the thief Kay Vess in the 2025 A Pirate's Fortune expansion for the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws, Tash will tell Vess that the criminal Rokana Raiders were lead around like ring-dogs by degenerate old pirates before she became leader. As the player has the option to make Vess shoot Tash before she completes the sentence and since the standoff only occurs in one of the two optional endings to the expansion, it is unclear if the dialogue canonically occurred.[3]
