"Ah, then I'll assume my men are dead. Even so, you have done us a great service. Their loss is your gain I suppose."
―Rikel thanks the individual who killed the looters[1]

Rikel was a male Human who served as a sergeant in the army of the Sith Empire during the Cold War against the Galactic Republic.[1] In around the year 3643 BBY,[2] he was stationed on the planet Korriban at the Sith Academy built there. While stationed there he issued Imperial Edict 936, an order to eliminate a number of looters who had begun scavenging in the Tomb of Ajunta Pall due to the K'lor'slug infestation there. Rikel sent a number of soldiers under his command to carry out the order, but all were killed. Rikel had fair skin, brown hair and grey eyes, while at the academy he wore a red suit of armor and carried a blaster pistol.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

Rikel was then approached by an Imperial aligned individual, who informed him they had found his edict recorded on a datapad among the remains of his men, and completed the task and eliminated the looters, recovering several artifacts as they did so. The sergeant thanked the individual and, after taking the artifacts from them, rewarded them for their efforts.[1]

Behind the scenes

Rikel first appeared in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a MMORPG released by BioWare in 2011. In the game, he was a part of the optional quest "Imperial Edict" which took place on the Imperial planet Korriban, starting world for the Sith Inquisitor and Sith Warrior classes. As any Imperial class can complete the quest this article makes no assumption about which character interacted with Rikel, but assumes the quest was completed as part of one hundred percent game completion.

SWTOR mini STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
