Rik's Cantina was an establishment located in the underworld of[1] the Core Worlds[2] ecumenopolis Coruscant.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, Rik's Cantina was mentioned in "Coruscant Underworld,"[1] an article written by Mark Newbold[3] and published in the "Guide to the Galaxy" department of the twenty-sixth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[1] which released around July 1, 2015.[4]
The cantina originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned as just "Rik's" in Star Wars: Legacy 0, a pre-release supplement for the Star Wars: Legacy comic book series written by John Ostrander and published by Dark Horse Comics[5] on June 7, 2006.[6] It then appeared for the first time in the fourteenth issue of Star Wars: Legacy,[7] and was first identified as Rik's Cantina in the sixteenth issue,[8] with both issues written by Ostrander and Jan Duursema, illustrated by Duursema,[7][8] and published on July 11,[9] and September 12, 2007, respectively.[10]
