- "I don't need my cybernetic eye to see that those wounds were radiation burns. You risked your life to save seventeen Imperial engineers who were trapped after a Crimson Dawn mole sabotaged the reactor on that ship."
- ―Jyala Haydenn, to Beilert Valance
Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[2] during the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn's war against the Galactic Empire, seventeen Imperial engineers were rescued from an Imperial starship by the Imperial officer Lieutenant Beilert Valance after a Crimson Dawn mole sabotaged the ship's reactor. During the rescue, Valance suffered radiation burns, which he had treated at Ryleel Imperial Base on[1] the planet[3] Carida.[1]
Valance's mission brief following the rescue was read by Imperial General Bordeaux, who described it as "riveting" when the two briefly crossed paths aboard the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Righteous Fist.[4]
Behind the scenes
The rescue of Imperial engineers was first mentioned in the twenty-fifth issue of the comic series Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. The issue was written by Ethan Sacks and published by Marvel Comics[1] on July 13, 2022.[5]
