Repulsorlift skates were a type of unique repulsor boots to the Nimbus commandos of Jabiim.[1]
Characteristics
A signature piece of gear to the Nimbus commandos of Jabiim, repulsorlift skates were a type of boot equipped with repulsorlifts in the heels, allowing the user to float up to three meters above land or water,[1] and thrusters in the calves that propelled the wearer up to ninety-five kilometers per hour.[1] These boots made a visual distortion when active, with the thruster assembly being extremely explosive and vulnerable to blaster fire.[1]
History
The Nimbus commandos of Jabiim used repulsorlift skates to navigate the muddy world of Jabiim, considered untraversable by walkers and other such conventions.[1] With these skates, the Nimbus Commandos were considered nearly unstoppable on their homeworld, and used the skates to incredible military effect during the Clone Wars.[1] Using the skates, squads of three could penetrate enemy lines with ease, reach heavy equipment and walkers, and destroy them with charges and grenades.[1] Commandos would then scatter mines behind them in retreat - their skates' repulsors allowing them to glide over the mines without detonating them.[1]
