The Republic Diplomatic Corps, abbreviated as RDC,[2] was a branch of the Galactic Republic that worked with the Galactic Senate and the Jedi Order's Council of Reconciliation to engage in diplomatic conflict resolution.[1] The Consular-class space cruiser was originally designed for use in the Republic Diplomatic Corps, and when the Clone Wars erupted, the RDC's cruisers were sourced by the Republic Navy and given a combat retrofit.[2]
