The Rendili StarDrive Y-wing was a variant of Koensayr Manufacturing's BLT Y-wing starfighter designed by Rendili StarDrive. Unlike its predecessor, the Rendili StarDrive Y-wing was constructed with passenger transportation in mind, being much larger than the typical BTL Y-wing model so that it could ferry three passengers alongside a designated pilot and astromech co-pilot. At least one of these vessels was owned by Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker while he was acting as an agent for the New Republic's Senate Planetary Intelligence Network in 5 ABY.

The Rendili StarDrive Y-wing bore a striking similarity to the design of the BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter; except its cockpit pod was substantially bigger to hold the additional passengers. While the Rendili StarDrive Y-wing does not possess an official length, its visual depiction within Prophets of the Dark Side shows it to be substantially bigger than the BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter's length of 16 meters.[3] Given that the visual references do not show the Rendili Y-wing to differ in terms of the proportion of its cockpit to the rest of its design, the length of the ship's frame and its famed y-shaped thrusters appear to have been increased in size.[1]
