Reek was a member of the Nihil pirates.[1] He[2] was the assistant to Baron Boolan during the High Republic Era.[3]

Reek was created for Phase III of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project, and was first mentioned in an article published on StarWars.com discussing the Nameless creatures. Michael Siglain, creative director of Lucasfilm Publishing, teased Reek's appearance within the 2023 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic.[3] The character later appeared in the series' seventh issue, written by Cavan Scott, illustrated by Marika Cresta, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on May 8, 2024.[4] Reek was originally going to be named Igor.[5]
