Reactive heatsinks were compact versions of the heat sinks used in capital ship reactors. They could be installed on a starship to actively detect and dissipate dangerous heat build up in a ship's laser cannons.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess was awarded a number of reactive heatsinks by the Miyuki Trade League after completing a smuggling contract for them.[1]
Behind the scenes
Reactive heatsinks first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] They were a collectable "passive system" ship upgrade that caused the player's ship cannons to lose heat when enemy ships were destroyed.[1]
