The Re-Integration Institute was a New Republic organization and part of the Amnesty Program. Its purpose was the rehabilitation of Imperial personnel offered amnesty after the Galactic Civil War and their therapy from Imperial conditioning. The Institute was also responsible for reconditioning relapsed Amnesty personnel that had broken the rules of their stay in Amnesty Housing on Coruscant by use of non-invasive psychological treatment.[1]
