A type of specialized guards that acted as a security force were stationed on the planet of Raxus Secundus. They guarded the senator of the planet[1] in the decades before the Clone Wars broke out.[2]
Description
Semage and Hanel prepare to fire their blasters at Jedi Masters Windu and Dooku.
The guards had blue, dark grey, and gold armor. They wore a full-face helmet and had gold claws as gloves. Each guard had a highly decorated blaster pistol located in a holster on their hip. Some guards also wielded a heavier blaster in combat.[1]
Some guards, like Semage and Hanel, did not wear helmets. The Raxus guard also worked alongside a force of combat automata, the Raxus Droids, who wielded blaster rifles.[1]
History
In the decades before the Clone Wars started,[2] a group of traitorous guards led by Semage and Hanel killed Jedi Master Katri in hopes the corrupt senator, Larik, would push their political agenda through to the Senate. However, when Jedi Mace Windu and Dooku arrived on the planet to pick up Katri's body, Senator Larik told the Jedi of the guards' scheme. While Larik was running towards the Jedi for safety, the guards shot him in the back, killing him. Afterward, a battle between the traitorous guards and the two Jedi ensued. The Jedi won but killed multiple guards including Hanel. Semage was captured and imprisoned in a facility on Raxus.[1]
Behind the scenes
The guards first appeared in the Disney+ original television series Tales of the Jedi in the third episode called "Choices."[1]

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi — "Choices"
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 "Choices" takes place after Qui-Gon Jinn became Dooku's padawan, but before Dooku left the Jedi Order. Star Wars: Timelines places the events of Master & Apprentice in 40 BBY. Qui-Gon Jinn is forty years old in Master & Apprentice, and also states he became Dooku's apprentice at twelve, which means he became an apprentice 28 years before 40 BBY, or 68 BBY. Also The Star Wars Book places Dooku's departure from the Jedi Order to forty-two years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 42 BBY according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. Therefore "Choices", which includes Hanel's death on Raxus Secundus, takes place between these years.
