Rawn was a male pilot in the New Republic's Hound Squadron. They were killed by the TIE pilots of the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing in the Oridol Cluster, during their attack on the New Republic frigate Hellion's Dare. Rawn's A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter was pinned and demolished by a flight of TIE fighters, a maneuver in which the surviving New Republic pilots came to know as Snapper's Needle.[2]
