"The name is silly; the threat is not. These are aggressive, dangerous fighters."
Beissa, to a pilot[1]

The Rancor Clan was a clan of Witches of Dathomir.[1] Contrary to the majority of the Dathomiri witches,[3] the Rancor Clan members manged to avoid being trapped on the surface of Dathomir when the Galactic Empire established the blockade of Dathomir. They then acquired starships and maintained a presence in the Dathomir system. Rancor Clan pilots flew M3-A Scyk fighters, G1-M4-C Dunelizard fighters and M12-L Kimogila heavy fighters. After the Battle of Yavin, the Rancor Clan interfered with Jabba the Hutt to expand his criminal organization in the Dathomir system. This prompted Beissa, the lieutenant of Jabba leading all the Hutt's space operations, to battle the Rancor Clan.[2]
