The Ramsir system was a part of the Jospro sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It shared its name with the conflict known as the Siege of Ramsir,[3] which was fought at some point between 19 BBY and 2 ABY.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Ramsir system was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square S-7.[1]

Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, Part 2 - Ancient Coruscant on StarWars.com (backup link) establishes that the Siege of Ramsir was fought at some point by 2 ABY and saw the participation of the Galactic Empire's Army. Since The New Essential Chronology dates the establishment of the Empire to 19 BBY, the Siege of Ramsir must have occurred sometime between those two dates.
