A rail jet was a hovertrain that traveled on one rail and transported ammunition, supplies and sometimes troops.

History

One rail jet transportation system was used during the Clone Wars on the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence.[1] Another one was used on the planet Khorm.

Behind the scenes

The shape of the rail jet cars used aboard the Malevolence was inspired by the Trade Federation's Multi-Troop Transports from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.[2]
