RMS droids were a type of droid[2] that had cylindrical bodies with two legs at the bottom and a domed top. A tube ran from the top of the droid down one side of its body, and an antenna protruded from the top of the droid on the same side as the tube. RMS droids could have gray plating with a single band of red near the top of the droids' body.[1]
In 32 BBY,[3] an RMS droid was stood next to a stretch droid by the door of the Toydarian Watto's junkshop[1] in the city of Mos Espa[4] on the planet Tatooine when the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn, Queen Padmé Amidala, the Gungan Jar Jar Binks, and the astromech droid R2-D2 entered in search of a T-14 hyperdrive generator.[1]
Behind the scenes
An RMS droid first appeared in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.[1] The droid was identified in "Every Droid in Star Wars," a 2019 video released as part of the Star Wars By the Numbers series created by StarWarsKids.com.[2]
