The Qixoni Nebula was located in the Southern Core portion of[2] the Colonies.[1] The nebula shared its name with the Qixoni crystals, a type of crystal that had formed on a planet before its star exploded as a supernova and destroyed it millennia before[4] 3951 BBY,[5] during the time of some of the first Jedi.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Qixoni Nebula was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square K-13. The book also placed the nebula in the Expansion Region, despite grid square K-13 not intersecting the region.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to The Essential Atlas later corrected the placement by establishing that the Qixoni Nebula lay in the Colonies instead.[1]
