The Phylon Transport Q7 tractor beam projector, or simply Q7 projector, was a model of tractor beam projector. The unit was heavily favored by the Galactic Empire.
Design
Q7 tractor beam projectors were powerful enough to capture starships, such as a CR90 corvette,[1] with an effective range of up to 120 kilometers.[2] The Q7, like other tractor beam projectors, were large units requiring a crew of operators and technicians to function effectively.[1]
History
Ten Q7 projectors were installed on the Galactic Empire's Imperial-class Star Destroyers. They were mounted on the ventral hull near the hangar entrance, mounted on rotating towers.[1]
The Empire also installed them on their Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts, with the Executor having 40 of them.
