The pygmy porlceetin was a type of large, hexapedal, venomous creature[1] native to the Outer Rim planet Geonosis. They had green markings that they used to lay in wait for prey and evade potential predators.[2] Some of the Nantex-class starfighters used by the sentient Geonosians had green highlights that resembled the markings found on porlceetins.[1] Geonosis was sterilized by the Galactic Empire around 9 BBY.[3]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, pygmy porlceetins were first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. The portion of the book mentioning porlceetins was a reprint[1] of a section from the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, which was written by Curtis Saxton and marked the creature's first mention in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4]
