The Puzzle Gate was a gate in the Palace of the High Games Masters on the planet Phothrell.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] Senator Mon Mothma arranged a meeting in the ruins of the palace with Senator Bail Organa and the guerrilla fighter Saw Gerrera to discuss Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine and his new regime. While arriving at the meeting, Mothma traveled out of a fungal desert before entering the palace through the Puzzle Gate and descending into the theater where the meeting was to be held.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Puzzle Gate appeared in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[1]

Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
