Punch discs[3] were rectangular golden cards with rounded corners. They could be inserted into slots on a payment dispenser in order to trigger the dispensing of credits.[1] In 9 BBY,[4] the workers at[1] Tibidon Station,[1][2] on the planet Tatooine carried punch discs, and used them with a payment dispenser attached to the top of a GNK-series power droid at the end of their shifts. After one shift, the worker Padu Cherd inserted his disc only to discover that he had only received half his pay. He begged the foreman, Groff Ditcher, for the rest, but was threatened into silence. Cherd's fellow worker Obi-Wan Kenobi scowled at Ditcher, but ultimately inserted his punch disc into the dispenser without saying anything.[1]

A punch card was used by the astronomer Kh'ymm. She inserted a punch card into a computer system, which causes the observatory dome to turn. Noticing Fern's backpack had Palmarish numerals she manage to successfully found the coordinates of At Attin. Although Jod Na Nawood realized she was stalling when she inserted punch card to download the coordinates. After grabbing the coordinate punch card, Jod shoots the computer terminal and tells the children to flee.[5]
