A protostar was a celestial object formed by collapse of a nebula that will eventually form a new star. They were considered unlikely to support life in their local star system.[1]
After the battle at Rendezvous Point Delta-Three, the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Fourth Division, gathered at Backup Rendezvous Point Gamma-Nine which was located[2] near a protostar[3][4] Another protostar was the Black Bantha Nebula.[1]
Behind the scenes
While multiple sources states that the celestial object that the Alliance Fleet gathered before was a protostar,[5][4] the 2020 reference title The Star Wars Book states that the fleet was gathered at the edge of the galaxy, in view of the latter celestial object.[6] This article assumes The Star Wars Book is in error.
