"Who doesn't love a good proteinloaf?"
―Dexter Jettster in the menu of Dex's Diner[1]

Proteinloaf was a dish served at the restaurant Dex's Diner on the planet Coruscant[1] prior to the diner's destruction during the first two years of the Galactic Empire's reign.[2] One order of proteinloaf came with three slices of the dish along with brown dwarf gravy and cost 7.7 credits. The diner's owner, Dexter Jettster, wrote in the menu that their proteinloaf was made from a tried-and-true recipe. He also described it as succulent.[1]

Behind the scenes

Proteinloaf was mentioned in "Dining at Dex's," a 2009 Hyperspace-exclusive article which was written by Gregory Walker and formatted as an in-universe menu.[1] In Walker's StarWars.com Blog, he described it as Star Wars-style meatloaf.[3]
