Super tactical droids were equipped with Preservation Protocols.
Preservation Protocols were a type of protocols implemented by ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droids of the Confederacy of Independent Systems as part of their enhanced programming. To implement these protocols into their droid soldiers, ST-series units were also able to establish a remote link to their troops, such as B1-series battle droids and B2-series super battle droid. When activated in an ST unit or a B1, the protocols resulted in the droid's photoreceptors glowing a bright blue.[1]
