Prentiss was a crewmember of the Consular-class space cruiser that crash-landed on an unnamed planet many years before the Battle of Yavin.
Six months after the battle, Han Solo and Chewbacca discovered the cruiser and came across a holorecording that reported of Prentiss' death. He was killed by a native creature soon after the crash-landing.
