The powered entrenching tool was a type of versatile entrenching tool. It was essentially a small, serrated, folding shovel with a short plasteel haft containing a powerful pistoning mechanism. It could be used to dig holes, trenches, and level areas for construction. Furthermore, its serrated blades could slice through heavy brush and obstacles. The powered entrenching tool cost 625 credits on the market and was a common sight among combat engineers.[1]

The powered entrenching tool was first mentioned in Fully Operational,[1] a 2018 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
