PowerPost was a small company that produced office supplies, including calculating machines and business datapads. They entered the droid market with the SCM-22 stenographer, licensing the droid brain from Industrial Automaton. Initially, PowerPost only sold the SCM-22 through its authorized retail outlets, but the commercial success of the droid led the company to expanding and distributing the product through other channels. Despite this success, PowerPost had no plans to continue producing droids.[1]
