Ponder was a human male clone who served the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After his transport carrying his squad was shot down on Metalorn, he was the sole survivor, though he lost his leg in the process and had to return to Kamino, where he cooked meals in the mess for other clones. Unknown to him, a shrapnel injury damaged his inhibitor chip. Eventually, he met the Keshiri woman Sohi, who had been undercover in the Galactic Senate spying for the Separatists when he was making his case for the Wounded Clones Bill proposed by Senator Elem Tyzdel and backed by Padmé Amidala. Despite being combatants from opposing sides, they fell in love. Around the time of the death of General Grievous at Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi's hands during the Battle of Utapau, he was about to make his case to the Jedi Order about forgiving Sohi for her part in serving the Separatists during the war, but Order 66 went out, causing the Jedi Temple to be attacked by the 501st Legion and Ponder's fellow brothers to kill the Jedi under their own inhibitor chips, forcing Ponder and Sohi to flee Coruscant. The two married on Canto Bight.[1]
