Point Rain was the name the Galactic Republic gave to its primary staging area during the Second Battle of Geonosis during the Clone Wars.[1]
History
Point Rain was a short distance away from the deflector shield generator protecting Poggle the Lesser's primary droid foundry. It was a heavily bombarded area, and only Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi's forces managed to make it to the staging area, although his ship was shot down and he was seriously injured.[1]
