Plo Koon's lightsaber was the lightsaber constructed and used by the Kel Dor Jedi Master Plo Koon during the decades leading up to his death in 19 BBY.
History
Plo Koon wielding his lightsaber
When Mace Windu called out for all available Jedi to accompany him to Geonosis to help Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker in 22 BBY, Koon and a strike team of fellow Jedi traveled to Geonosis, carrying it into battle against the Separatist Droid Army.[5]
Koon continued to wield it as he became a Jedi General during the Clone Wars,[8] until his death during Order 66 in the skies of Cato Neimoidia.[9] He wielded the weapon on numerous fronts ranging from the orbit of Anza, Florrum, Felucia, Coruscant and Khorm. It isn't known, however, what led (story-wise) the crystal change from orange to blue.
Behind the scenes
This lightsaber hilt is a copy of the one carried by both Mace Windu and Luminara Unduli in promotional material for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,[10] with the addition of blue coloring of the grooves around its blade emitter[1]. Both Plo Koon's and Mace Windu's copies were blue bladed, while Luminara's one was green bladed. Both Koon and Unduli's lightsabers had colored grooves towards the emitter, and Luminara had a colored pommel as well, while Mace Windu's lightsaber was plain.
