Plasti-foil was first mentioned in Christopher Kubasik's 1989 roleplaying adventure Crisis on Cloud City, which was published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1] Triple Zero, the 2006 second entry in the Republic Commando series of novels by Karen Traviss, later introduced the alternate spelling "plastifoil" that was used in the name of the thermal plastifoil survival blanket.[2]
