- «I'll get started on the rest of this, and see if I can find enough space somewhere for this impossible plasma tank he wants.»
- ―A bluedock foreman, to Samakro
Plasma tanks held the plasma used in plasma spheres, a weapon utilized by warships of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] while the Chiss heavy cruiser Springhawk was under repairs at a bluedock space station, its foreman complained to the ship's first officer, Mid Captain Ufsa'mak'ro, core name "Samakro," about an extra plasma tank that the vessel's commanding officer, Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, core name "Thrawn," had requested. He stated that the tank would not fit on the ship but ultimately surrendered and said that he would try to find space for it.[1]
Behind the scenes
Plasma tanks were mentioned in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
