Plasma grenades were a type of grenade that used blaster technology. They were filled with highly pressurized gas that was energized by an XCiter unit, and the energized gas would then be detonated by a laser charge. The resulting explosion was similar in both appearance and effect to a blaster bolt, albeit over a wider area and much more powerful.[1]
