Piasa

Piasas were a large type of bird indigenous to the planet Koboh. They could be distinguished by their ax-like beak and large stature. The piasa was considered one of Koboh's apex predators, striking fear into any creature it decided to prey upon. They were a nomadic species that rarely perched. At least one piasa, however, did have a nest in the Boiling Bluff area near Rambler's Reach Valley. In 9 BBY,^[2] Jedi Knight Cal Kestis and his droid companion BD-1 encountered a piasa at the Forest Array on Koboh, and freed it from a solid Koboh dust thicket that trapped the large creature.^[1]
