Physical science droids were one of the four primary subgroups of class one droids, along with biological science droids and mathematics droids. Physical science droids were designed for and tasked with the study of galactic physical phenomena and the testing of new scientific theories. A wide variety of scientific disciplines utilized physical science droids, such as astronomy, physics, hyperphysics, transdimensional quantum metaphysics, geology, and chemistry.[1]
