Phase-knives were a type of blade developed on the planet Philaxia.
Description
Resembling a knife's hilt when deactivated, the phase-knife utilized technology resembling lightsaber designs. Projecting a weightless blade when turned on, the device utilized a molecular shield to form the razor-sharp weapon. Because of the rotoscoping effect of the blade, it was difficult to wield. The phase-knife's lengths size and shape was adjustable.[1]
History
Developed by artificers on the planet Philaxia, the phase-knife was used by the criminal element there until the world's discovery by the Galactic Republic. With the introduction of the vibroknife by Republic settlers, the phase-knife was largely discarded as a relic of the past until a member of the Jedi Order discovered one decades later.
