The Pesmenben system was located in the Teraab sector,[1] a part of the Slice portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] It contained the planet Pesmenben IV in its fourth orbital position.[3] By 0 BBY,[4] the Human businessman Lando Calrissian tricked Pesmenben IV's Imperial governor into leasing the planet via a scam that involved lithium.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Pesmenben system was first mentioned in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article published in issue thirteen of the Voyages SF magazine, which placed the system in the Trebela sector; however, as the magazine was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process,[5] it is considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[6] The first canonical mention of the Pesmenben system was in the 2008 reference book The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed it in grid square Q-11,[2] and its StarWars.com Online Companion overrode the Voyages SF placement by establishing that the Pesmenben system was a part of the Teraab sector.[1]

Lucasfilm treats material from the various unlicensed roleplaying game magazines as non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity, with the only exceptions being the existence of those worlds and star systems that are referenced in The Essential Atlas and its StarWars.com Online Companion, and any other details that were referenced in, and thus canonized by, an official source.
