A pentalope was a type of creature found at the Lonisa City Zoo on[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Valo during the High Republic Era. According to the Alcedian Jedi youngling Tep Tep,[1] a native of Valo[3] who had lived within the zoo for a time[4] before eventually leaving the planet, a newborn pentalope learned to walk only after overcoming their initial frustrations.[1]
In 228 BBY,[5] while Tep Tep was part of a Jedi group on[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Eiram, the group spoke with Toranide Nawl—the mayor-elect of Barraza City—about recent events in the city. Finding Nawl's behavior frustrating, Tep Tep mentally noted she looked like a newborn pentalope from the zoo—awkward and struggling to control their frustrations before mastering the ability to walk.[1]
