The Peluchia system was located in the Kurost sector,[1] in The Slice portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] It was the origin point of the Peluchian style of personal grooming.[3][4]

Behind the scenes

The Peluchia system was first introduced in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article published in the thirteenth issue of the Voyages SF magazine. The article placed it in the Altor sector and[5] erroneously[6] claimed that it was referenced in the[5] 1988[6] roleplaying adventure Strike Force: Shantipole, published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Since that article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process,[5] it was considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[7] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, subsequently the Peluchia system in grid square Q-11,[2] and the StarWars.com Online Companion to the book overrode the Voyages SF 13 placement by placing the system in the Kurost sector instead.[1]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Peluchian in relation to the Peluchia system.

Lucasfilm treats material from the various unlicensed roleplaying game magazines as non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity, with the only exceptions being the existence of those worlds and star systems that are referenced in The Essential Atlas and its StarWars.com Online Companion, and any other details that were referenced in, and thus canonized by, an official source.
