"One of the most ferocious of all warm-blooded predators in the Agarix sector, the arqet is a murderous predator inhabiting the mountain ranges of the planet Pellastrallas."
―Holobrochure for the Tagge Holographic Museum of Chandrila[3]

Pellastrallas was a planet[3] located in the Pellastrallas system, a part of the Agarix sector[1] in the Western Reaches portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] Its surface featured mountain ranges that were inhabited by the arqet, an aggressive warm-blooded predator that used camouflage—with its skin changing color depending on the amount of solar radiation absorbed—to ambush prey in its rocky habitat. The latter creatures included the smaller Ixzinian rock ram and Uthori breix,[3] which originated in[4] the Ixzinia system and Uthor system respectively.[5]

On the date 13:4:18, an issue of the CoCo District Edition of the HoloNet News noted the arqet's homeworld while reporting on a rampage by one such creature on[6] the moon[7] Nar Shaddaa. The report misspelled the planet's name as "Pellastrallus."[6] An entry of a holobrochure for the Tagge Holographic Museum of[3] the planet[8] Chandrila dedicated to the arqet and available during the reign of the Galactic Empire also mentioned Pellastrallas.[3]

Behind the scenes

Pellastrallas was mentioned in the 1994 sourcebook Creatures of the Galaxy, published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The section of the book mentioning the planet was authored by Rick D. Stuart.[3] HoloNet News Vol. 531 #52, a representation of an in-universe issue of the HoloNet News[6] written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens[9] and published on the HoloNet News website on April 18, 2002,[10] misspelled the planet's name as "Pellastrallus,"[6] an error that was also included in 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[11] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Pellastrallas system, and therefore the planet, in grid square K-18.[2]
