Pegg was a terrestrial celestial body[3] located in the Pegg system,[1] a part of the Tynquay sector[1] in the Trans-Hydian portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It hosted multiple spaceports, with the concourse of the main one being the site of the store named Merrk's Weapons Shop. During the Galactic Civil War, several members of the group of pirates led by Yesgar, who had a hideout on[3] the Esstran sector[4] celestial body Antared III, were observed entering the shop, after which they never registered their purchases with Pegg's local government.[3]
Behind the scenes
Pegg was introduced in Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook, a 1993 sourcebook published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the game, the celestial body was mentioned in a hypothetical example in a section advising gamemaster players on the use of various paper handouts in their games.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas later placed the Pegg system in grid square R-4. The book's co-author[2] Jason Fry has stated that the star systems listed in the Appendix section of The Essential Atlas are named after the most prominent planets or celestial bodies located in those systems. This article therefore considers the existence of Pegg to be canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[5]

Jason Fry (@jasoncfry) on Twitter (post): "Pretty much." (In response to "the systems in the Atlas's appendix are named after their most prominent planet/celestial body, correct?") and "planets not assigned a system in [a] published source can be assumed to reside in [the] system of [the] same name."
