"Thus we triumph! I invoke the Path of Blood!"
"I will remember you Mistress!"
"No. You won't."
―The First Witch of the Wyrd and her second-in-command, as the First Witch slew her assistant to call upon the Path of Blood[1]

The Path of Blood was a Force-based rite derived from the dark side of the Force that was capable of killing a ch'hala tree. The Path of Blood was among teachings derived from ancient Sith practices that were shared with the Wyrd, a Coven of Tarasin Force witches, by the leader of the Believers Sith cult, Len Markus.[1]

Circa 19 BBY,[2] the First Witch of the Wyrd invoked the Path of Blood in order to kill the World Tree Ch'hala following the failure of an attempt to turn the ch'hala to the dark side of the Force. The First Witch called upon the Path of Blood by stabbing and killing her second-in-command with a meter-long, black metallic rod, which triggered an intense, red-colored energy wave that discharged into the ch'hala. However, the Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk sacrificed himself and merged his consciousness into the ch'hala to enable it to fight off the dark power unleashed by the Path of Blood. The energy released by the rite was then deflected out from the tree and onto the First Witch, causing her to explode.[1]
