Parnarosis 3 was a location[2] in the Inner Rim Parnarosis system. It lay in grid square K-14 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Parnarosis 3 was named after Jedi Master Parnarosis, who had died[2] by 19 BBY. That year,[3] less than a month after the Galactic Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire after the end of the Clone Wars, Parnarosis 3 was renamed after a dead warlord. Shortly after, while Senator Mon Mothma was in her apartment on the planet Coruscant, she saw a list of entries on her datapad, including a recent one noting Parnarosis 3's renaming. Mothma considered whether the price of stability, which included the denial of relief shipments to[2] the planet[4] Cato Neimoidia and the erasure of Parnarosis's memory from the galaxy, was low enough, wondering if it even mattered and noting that she had voted for worse proposals.[2]

Parnarosis 3 was mentioned in Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, a 2025 novel written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[2]

Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss. 
Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY. As the third chapter of The Mask of Fear establishes Parnarosis had died before its events, their death must have occurred by that year.
