The Panela system was a part of the Core Worlds.[1] It shared its name with the Panelan feast, a traditional event in the annual Marqua Spas Grand Ball that was held on the[2] Gailea system's[3] planet[4] Gailea.[2]

Behind the scenes

The Panela system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square M-12.[1]
