Pain-relieving gas was a type of anesthesia applied via a non-rebreather mask.[1] It was used within the scope of practice of Imperial medics assigned to the Galactic Empire's 224th Imperial Armored Division[2] on the Expansion Region planet Mimban. During the Mimban Campaign between the 224th Armored Division and the Mimbanese Liberation Army[1] in 10 BBY,[3] Specialist Gillen Finders prepared a canister of pain-relieving gas to apply to Corporal Chakobi Sanwright when the latter suffered a concussion during an attack by Mimbanese guerillas.[1]
