PT01

PT01 was the designation of a DUM-series pit droid that served as a mechanic for various Podracer pilots. The Toydarian junk dealer Watto offered the droid's counterparts, PT02, PT03, and PT04 for sale around the year 32 BBY for 1,000 truguts each, selling them from his shop on the planet Tatooine. PT01 tan colored plating with a large black colored shape on his torso. The droid also had a single black photoreceptor on its head.[1]

Behind the scenes

PT01 and his counterparts first appeared in the 1999 video game Star Wars Episode I: Racer. PT01 was the only pit droid that did not need to be purchased. The pit droids were used for repairing damaged parts on the player's Podracer. Damaged parts were repaired after the player successfully completed a newly unlocked course or a course that they hadn't beaten before.[1]
