«P8-47 carrying urgent message // Message = sent by Nem'ro the Hutt // Mighty Nem'ro all powerful ruler of Jigunna.»
―P8-47 addresses an Imperial-aligned individual[1]

P8-47 was a droid active on the planet Nal Hutta during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. The droid was owned by the Hutt crime lord Suudaa Nem'ro, who controlled the town of Jiguuna. When Nem'ro's rival Voontara Fa'athra began moving his forces into Jiguuna, Nem'ro became enraged and sent the droid to the Poison Pit cantina to deliver a message that Nem'ro was offering a reward to any who would kill Fa'athra's men. The droid showed the message to an individual aligned with the Empire who agreed to take on the task and eliminated some of Fa'athra's men.

P8-47 was a droid owned by the Hutt crime lord Suudaa Nem'ro during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.[1] In 3643 BBY,[2] Nem'ro's rival Voontara Fa'athra sent forces to wage war against him in the streets of Jiguuna,[1] an industrial town on the planet Nal Hutta that Nem'ro controlled.[3] Outraged, Nem'ro placed a bounty on all of Fa'athra's men in Jiguuna and recorded a holographic message advertising the reward and calling for anyone who heard it to eliminate them. Nem'ro then tasked P8-47 to deliver the message to everyone it could and threatened to have the droid destroyed and sent to the scrap heap if it failed in its task. P8-47 traveled to the Poison Pit cantina in Jiguuna in order to deliver the message, although it dismissed some individuals who approached it, claiming it was on an important mission and so too busy to talk.[1]

P8-47 successfully delivered the message to an individual in the Poison Pit who was aligned with the Empire. The individual agreed to defeat the thugs and left the cantina, killing at least six of Fa'athra's men in the surrounding area. P8-47 was appreciative that the task was complete and Nem'ro was content with the result and rewarded the individual.[1]

Characteristics

«P8-47 = relieved // Nem'ro = turn P8-47 into spare parts if message ignored // P8-47 = not ready for scrap heap.»
―P8-47 expresses relief that an individual agreed to kill Fa'athra's men[1]

P8-47 described its master Nem'ro as all-powerful and considered the Hutt a dangerous individual to refuse. The droid claimed to be relieved when an individual agreed to kill Fa'athra's men for Nem'ro. P8-47 spoke in binary and was equipped with a holoprojector capable of displaying holographic messages with sound. It had a blue sensor and brown and gray plating.[1]

Behind the scenes

«Nem'ro = dangerous to refuse // Nem'ro = turn P8-47 into spare parts if message ignored // P8-47 = stay here for now.»
―P8-47's dialogue if the player refuses to accept the quest[1]

P8-47 appeared in the 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic in the mission "Death Mark: Fa'athra Gang". The mission is not part of any class storyline, and thus is optional. It is available only to members of the Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent classes, as it takes place in their starting zone, Nal Hutta. There are no "light side" or "dark side" options within the quest, and once the player has killed the thugs, the quest completes without them having to return to P8-47.[1]

The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
